The Dead Man’s Blood is officially on 6 March 2025.
If you’d like to join the ARC team and help promote the book and series, here’s what you need to know:
Themes
While this is the cosiest book of the series so far, there are discussions of filicide and domestic abuse.
Chronology
It’s book 2 of part 2, but contains standalone mysteries so you can read it without having read the others.
Language and typos
The book is written in British English, which means I use spellings like cosy and lasagne instead of cozy and lasagna.
If you spot any typos, please let me know by the end of February and I’ll add you to the acknowledgements. (If it’s after that date I may not be able to add you.)
Marketing help
Social media posts where you share why you loved a book mean A LOT more than me sharing ‘buy my book!’ posts. People care what others like them think, not what the author has to say.
And half the time if you share an image/video/link on social it cuts the original text 🤦♀️ So then fewer people see it.
I don’t care about follower numbers.
I care that you’re a nice person who likes cosy ghost stories.
Sound like you?
Awesome. Let’s help each other 😊
Myself or my VA Beth will share some launch graphics (some that include your reviews!) for you to use on social media. You’re more than welcome to create your own too.
I’m aiming to do the cover reveal a month before release, on 6 February or slightly after. We’re still putting the finishing touches to it and I don’t want to dilute the launch of Revenge of the Redhead.
More details will be sent on that when the cover is finalised.
Not a social media fan?
My partner hates social media. I get that it isn’t for everyone.
If you just want to help with cover reveals and/or promo posts on social rather than reviewing, that’s totally fine.
Likewise if you’re not into content creation and only want to review on the usual places like Amazon and Bookbub, that’s totally fine too.
Or you can do both. Whatever rocks your boat.
Release date
The release date is set for 6 March 2025. Review copies will be emailed out via BookFunnel 2-4 weeks before launch. You’ll get your own unique link that enables you to download one ebook copy for one device.
I’ll email review links out a day or two before the release, and also after.
The platforms that make the biggest difference are Amazon, Apple, and Barnes & Noble. These are the platforms where Afterlife Calls gets the most readers.
ARC team sign ups will close 1 February 2025 (and probably reopen later in the year for The Vampire’s Revenge).
Side note
Due to other factors, I’ve lost all of the old Afterlife Calls reviews on Apple Books. So if you have a moment to leave a review on there it’d be a huge help <3
Question?
Any questions, drop me a message on Facebook (you’ll get the fastest reply there).
I would love to be an ARC reader for any books in the Afterlife Calls series. Also, grammar nerd here, so I can let you know, for example, about mistakes like PORING over a book/document rather than POURING (incorrect), which is something I see a lot. And I love your books, so I’ll be happy to leave nice reviews.
If you’d like to become an ARC, don’t forget to fill in the form so I have all the details I need to send you your advanced copy 🙂 Thanks for volunteering to help out!
